2 Events - Event #1: Sebago Canoe Club event at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park - TONIGHT APRIL 2

Sorry such short notice, work's been crazy & the date snuck up on me!

Sounds like a fun evening - a chance to hear more about the NYC Watertrail, and City of Water Day (big tiny-craft event this summer), and drool over a pretty slide show (with reindeer I betcha!) - I'm just sorry I'll be stuck at work, bah! I hate budget season. But then I'd hate being unemployed even more, so oh well.

Join SEBAGO CANOE CLUB for an evening of information on the upcoming season for paddlers in the metropolitan area. Share your calendar and special event schedule with your fellow paddling organizations. WEDNESDAY APRIL 2, 2008, 6 TO 9 P.M. AT THE ARSENAL GALLERY, 64TH STREET AND FIFTH AVENUE

Hear and view a presentation of the updated NEW YORK CITY WATERTRAIL by Parks Department representative Velma Segars. Maps detailing new access locations will be available.

Get the latest information on the CITY OF WATER DAY CONVERGENCE ON GOVERNORS ISLAND from partners in this event scheduled for Saturday July 26th from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. A schedule of launch times for paddlers from around the estuary will be available, together with ferry and transport options for those not paddling but attending the celebration on the island. Music and food options will be available during your visit on the island. Harbor tours scheduled include ecological, historical, and working harbor themes.

Enjoy a video presentation by Lena Conlan of CROSSING LATITUDES. This might be that fantasy trip of a lifetime for you that we all look forward to. ARCTIC SCANDINAVIA - Land of the Midnight Sun!The far north of Scandinavia offers some of the best paddling and trekking in the world. With thousands of miles of coast line, hundred thousands of islands and a sun that never sets in the summer the outdoor opportunities are fantastic!

This fun presentation by Lena Conlan - a true Swede - will take you sea kayaking in the Norwegian Sea and Reindeer packing in the Swedish mountains. Through slides taken by both Lena, her Crossing Latitudes staff, participants and a professional photographer you will experience the wicked Malstrøm current, midnight sun, impressive mountains, remote beaches and the history of Vikings. This is a fun, inspirational and educational presentation about paddling and trekking in the Land of Midnight Sun - Scandinavia! Välkommen! Welcome!
