Yep, seemed like a good reminder for the weekend that kicks off "official" boating season. Lots of icy-winter-rainy-spring-bleached hide coming out from under wraps around now!
When I see scallops all I can think about are scallops. The best thing I ever had in a restaurant in my entire life was a scallop. My wife makes great scallops.
Personally, I'm trying to lay plans for trying these soft-shell crabs that are such a big thing here.
But goodness, it seems like you & Sally should be driving past Rockville Center all the time. These scallops were seriously some of the best I've had in a long time - the only competition they had on the scale of scallop lusciousness were the ones that Dan Kim recommended when we went out for dinner after he took us for a sail on the Pretty Gee last Fall.
Good advice - wish I'd remembered it last weekend!
