Being the Continuing Adventures of a Woman and her Trusty Kayak in New York Harbor, the Hudson River, and Beyond.
(with occasional political rants just to keep things lively!)
Bonnie I was 17, working as summer help with a construction company. My boss stops the truck next to the Cyclone (we were driving through the neighborhood.) He said "do you like roller coasters?" I said they scare the hell out of me...I hate them. He said "so you want to ride the Cyclone?" I said okay. Like you, I can say I did it. Haven't been on one since!
OMG. See, when I did it it was my idea - TQ and I had gone to see a Cyclones game and I thought it would be a good way to round out the day.
When my friend Waqar first mentioned making a trip to Coney Island while he was visiting, I first said I would meet him out there without really thinking twice, then it hit me that I had better clarify that I was not a scary-rides person. I was pretty sure he was just talking about going to take pictures but you never know who is going to turn out to be a coaster enthusiast!
It did turn out that he just wanted to take pictures too, so it all worked out.
Last (and scariest) roller coaster I've ever been on, the Cyclone!
ReplyDeleteI rode it once, just so I could say I did. I am a great big chicken about roller coasters!
