Sandy Hook Hike

Just a quick picture post today. Life continues to be overscheduled for me, swinging back and forth between grievously and gloriously so (weekends have been spectacular, work weeks not so much...), and TQ's got a lot going on too, but we managed to grab a Saturday together this weekend and escaped the crowds and the noise for one splendid afternoon to ourselves. Click on the first photo for a slideshow view, and click here for more about the Sandy Hook unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area.

This one's actually NJ - still on the shores of NY Harbor though. We are so fortunate to have the Gateway Recreation Area here!

This makes me wistful. It may be a while before I visit NYC again. I was hoping to on Thanksgiving, but our plans fell through. Plus, there are other family issues. Keep those photos coming, because a virtual visit does a lot for me, and for others who don't know that New York City is more than a collection of skyscrapers.

Gorgeous pictures, Bonnie. I have to admit that when life gets crazy (especially at holiday time) scenes like these are so calming.
