Being the Continuing Adventures of a Woman and her Trusty Kayak in New York Harbor, the Hudson River, and Beyond.
(with occasional political rants just to keep things lively!)
It was a nice day for paddling. I was a bit bummed out 'cause I'd packed sandwiches but TQ wasn't in the mood for a picnic on the beach, but we had a good afternoon on the water.
I was in the group that went to Howard Beach on Saturday. It was so foggy we couldn't see Ruffle Bar most of the time. Totally eerie, quiet air, glassy water. There was an osprey at the Canarsie Pol platform, just seeming to hang out. We passed a couple of dozen cormorant nests, with one cormorant in each one, at the northern tip of Elders Marsh just west of North Bridge. A beautiful, strange day!

looks a somewhat greyish day, bit the same here.
the water looks peaceful though.

Days like that can be such interesting and beautiful paddling days. I actually picked Saturday because of the fog forecast.
