Because Bowsprite says SPAM reminds her of me. So if that's how it is, I think that she should have the full Spam Musubi Experience. Pick an evening, Bowsprite, any weekday (not this Friday, 'cause me and TQ have a date with a pair of Sunfish, but pretty much any other day in the next couple of weeks should work). We'll go to L&L & I'll introduce you to this very special fusion cuisine!

BTW, the sprite is being evasive. But then somehow she was under the impression that the foundation block was cheesecake, so that might explain it.
Maybe if I call L&L & find out if it would be permitted for a person bring some Kona Brewing Company beer to wash it down...
I have always loved the juxtaposition of paradise and potted precooked meat product.
The funny thing is, it's apparently not just Hawaii. I showed it to my boss and she cracked up 'cause she loves spam too! Her family is from Hong Kong & she said Spam is VERY popular there, too.
Probably similar reasons - hot climate, and Spam keeps.

You can bring cheesecake if haupia doesn't sound good. Haupia is coconut pudding. It's yummy! Here is a picture of some haupia on a white plate:

This drawing reminds me of the Taijitu symbol, used to represent the principle of yin and yang, which I think is manifested here by animal and vegetable or maybe by the digestible and the indigestible.
