I'm so swamped at work today that I have no time for recollections, but I do want to share a nice piece from my friend Richard Spilman at the Old Salt Blog. http://www.oldsaltblog.com/2013/09/american-dunkirk-looking-back-911-twelve-years-later/
I'm still proud that I got to be part of this. John Krevey made the barge at Pier 63 a part of it and that's where I'd ended up after fleeing from downtown. I was in a daze when I got there, but I was there and I did what I could to help, along with all of the other barge regulars who were there that day. I was a ridiculously tiny piece of a very fine picture but I can't think of any better way to have spent those first few hours.
Miss you, John.
Thank you, Rick.
