Labor Day 2013, Jamaica Bay (leaving Mill Basin with the Sebago crew)
We were very lucky, got a nice paddle in today. There were a few rumbles of thunder right at 2, when NOAA said our area was going to start seeing some worse storms, and we hustled home at that point, but although it did rain a bit, J-bay dodged the worst of the weather.
Luck was part of it, sure, but mostly we had a fine paddle thanks to you as trip leader sticking to a good plan. Given the size of the group it was quite a feat that everyone was happy with the paddle... not to mention your awesome tandem roll in that 21-foot beast! Thanks, Bonnie! Jeff

Reminds me of being under the Beaver Dam Bridge in Metedeconk. We spent many an afternoon under there.

Queens got a proper gullywasher though.

Thanks, Jeff! I'm hoping that guy Josh from the North Brooklyn Boat Club posts his video of the double roll. That was fun!
