Would you like a windsurfer? I have an ancient windsurfer in my back yard. Its a big long "floater" Has even a little dager board. My son used to give his girlfriends rides when he was in High School. Board is complete. I have all the parts. Free to a good home!!!

Beware buying just a hull. The dager board and the ruder cost a fortune. I have a mast , boom and sail that you can have for free. Its not a very good sail but usable. Rig is off a Mayflower but its the same rig as the sunfish.
Oh, I'm not actually shopping, one of the other sailors at Sebago sent those links around. I haven't had much time for blogging this week but the ads cracked me up ("depoweratrix" - brilliant!) and when I had a free minute I put this up.
A sailboat of my own might feature in my Sailing 2025 post, if I end up having time to write that. Certainly would if my Sailing 2025 were a pipe-dream of what I'd like to happen. A sailboat is definitely a much more fantastic lifestyle product than...oh, let's say a bag, just to pick a random item. But the toy budget just can't take that much style right now.
Dennis - I totally know what you mean! One of the local boathouses was actually giving away a Force 5 hull recently. It had basically been abandoned & they were just trying to free up the storage space. I was tempted for a second, until I started looking at prices of the other parts. Then I stopped being tempted.
For now, I'll keep having fun with the club dinghies, which aren't new but aren't dingy, either!
That pile of Sunfish reminds me of a pile that used to show up every year at the town dump where I used to live in NJ. Wait a minute. Did the ad say Morris County? It might be the same dump!
Basically Sunfish were abandoned at the end of he season at the town lake and docks and the town would haul them all away. One of my friends used to select the most serviceable ones, repair them, and use them in his kids' sailing program.
But moonstruck is right. The hull is only the beginning.
I have some old Laser sails, not in quite as bad a condition as that Sunfish sail, but I was thinking of putting them on eBay or craigslist with some similar spoof wording.

bonnie, those are both great. the ad for the sail is great humor, but I think he's a little optimistic to want $50!
