Speaking of picture-postcards...

Felt like getting out on the water today, but it was a little cold and windy for my little yellow boat, so instead I went with big and orange. Chilly day, but oh so pretty.

I've been known to criticize East Coast sunsets as all too often being located over parking lots or other unromantic foregrounds, but I guess this one was OK.

It's beautiful. and we can't help the sun setting in the wrong direction (a big peeve of mine too) but we get gorgeous sunrises

If you can get a water body in front of it it works better. My friend Bob pointed out over on FB that the north shore of LI is good for sunsets. I'd actually first noticed the issue on an early date with TQ when we were sitting on Calf Pasture Beach with the sun setting over the parking lot - CT is of course on the wrong side of the sound for sunsets.

We get some nice ones in the Paerdagat and on Jamaica Bay, and then NY Harbor comes through with some good ones too.

This one was pretty darned good.
